I just got my test server setup and am waiting on my friends to get on so we can test it. But first i thought i might give you a few first impressions of my own.

1) i like the chat built right in to the ui. A very good feature considering some of my friends do not have mics.

2) I had to look for the ping rate a bit, something that i am constantly monitoring for some reason.

3) For what should be such an intense program to run it leaves a very small footprint on my system.

4) The channel creation is something that i have not been crays about with vent and it seems that it is close to the same thing here. Not sure how else to go about it, it just seems like that is a bit of a hassle.

5) A type of quick connect option would be nice, i don't want to be saving all these groups info that i may never use again.

6) The connection page however is much nice in my opinion than that of vents.

I will have some more insight when my buddies get on and we evaluate it more. Good job so far guys.

I agree with your points. However, I find channel creation very simple. Right-click on Lobby, and click Add a New Channel. Then you get the channel settings.

Seems pretty straight forward to me :)

Thanks for using Mohawk!!

When you say Quick Connect, that's something we'll look into. Regarding the channel creation, what changes do you think would improve the existing setup?

I think that what i mean is an easier way to mass create channels. Similar to what you see when you create forum categories on forum software. A window instead of having to go through and click each one and parent it accordingly . The actual channel creation was way better than vent. The permissions were not overwhelming to have to set.

After messing around with Mohawk some more with my guildies, we have all found this to be great software. The changing of an individuals volume is great, my cousin is so loud in vent and my friend is so hard to hear. Plus it just really helps us who are hard of hearing. The pre-defined user groups is great, i was looking for but did not find (i may have missed it) a way to create custom user groups. The auto registration by clicking on a persons name is nice too. With over 80 members in my guild i never really created custom user names for my members, it was too tedious, and you never know who will be staying. Being able to make the program talk when you get a private message is also nice, since most of us are not always looking at the voice over window. One of my friends commented on the fact that the actual connection pane is a lot easier to understand the other software. He said he still did not fully understand vents after using it for a year lol.

Our pre-paid vent expires in January, we were going to go back to teamspeak, just cause we like it more. Now i am very heavily considering Mohawk as our alternative.

Thanks for the good work guys.

You only create channels once :)

The process to make channels is fine imo. Since you spend 10-15 minutes tweaking it to how you want, than your done.
