Hi
Although only recently got a Beta server, there have been a couple of comments from our users. a couple of which are below.
The main points overall raised are that they like the ease of set up, but voice quality is not quite there at this time.
Is there a way to alter the codecs used rathaer than a low/Med/High option?
Seems locked on Speex 1.2beta - Mono 22hz
Pros -
Very quick to install.
Easy to setup, I don't think i had to change any settings to get it working just enter server address.
Cons-
Quality not quite as good as vent.
Overlapping comms seem a little distored (see above??)
Do you know if it will list in hlsw like vent does it have a server viewer thing like vent?
I like it mainly for the simplicity of set up. It's very straightforward and quite intuitive when adjusting various settings as opposed to Vent where you need a masters degree in Computer Programming!
The sound quality is slightly poorer than Vent (as me and Mac discussed this afternoon) but that's probably down to the codec it's using (speex Mono, 16 bit, 22Khz) whereas (I'm guessing) Vent may well use GSM or a higher quality speex codec.
I also have a problem with Vent where it seems to transmit when it wants to transmit as opposed to when I speak! But Mohawk works/transmits when I want it to transmit.
