Possible Bug - Unable to edit in the same channel that you are in

I recently noticed that you cannot edit the same channel that your currently in. Is this a bug or is this intended?

Right now this is by design. We may decide to change it later on.

I think it's annyoing. I should be able to edit that channel even if im in it.

There are reasons for the way it is now to ensure security/reliability. It would take some time to change it.
