Random sound failure and program lockup

Running Windows Vista Business on AMD Dual Core system, with a Soundblaster X-FI sound card with the latest version of Mohawk client.

I have consitently had issues with the sound on my end suddenly stopping. The yellow lights in the program show people still talking but I have no sound. Then after a few seconds I get a loud, short screech in my headphones and the program simply locks up.

We are almost certain this is a result of Creative's poor WAVE support. Obviously the X-FI is well used amongst our target audience, so we're about 3-5 days away from implementing DirectSound (which will fix your issues). :)
