I have not read through the forums to see if any of these are duplicates but:

key bind to raise and lower the volume
key bind for muting the mic
key bind for muting the headphones
key bind for whispering (talk to just one person or a group of people depending on the bind - there needs to be the option of having multiple keys to several individuals)

---
a really awesome feature would be to either figure out how to have multiple instances - or even better- figure out a way to allow a person to connect to multiple voice servers at once

---

I noticed that there were some vision problems in the channels and I'm thinking that this next feature request might already be built in:

Better fine tuned control for user access into different channel sections. Passwords are okay, but its annoying to pass that out and it can 'slip' to the wrong people. Instead, perhaps user groups. For example, if a user belongs to an admin group maybe they can get to any channel and see those in any channel. A user in the public member group might get access to certain public channels. A user in a private member group might get more access. A council membership might grant you even more. . . .

one more:

figure out a way to announce who is entering/exiting.
I hate hearing "member joined" only to tab out and figure out it wasn't someone I wanted to talk to :P

the latest build 2004? has a click on and click of telling you when you key up or key off the mic. I like it but I'd also like to be able to disable it.

The quality seems like its gotten better in this build -great. Need to get registered so that I can test out the high quality.

Is it possible to have a separate radio button for incoming audio quality for those that have to watch their bandwidth? seems to silly to throw this data away (and the server would have to be the one to do it to save the bandwidth).

That's all for now.

one more thing. I always get an error message that my default mic and sound is broken but it always also works just fine. Weird.

Hello,

You can turn off the transmit clicks in the controls > speech > select system events to speak.

Its down at the very bottom.

The audio quality is for the incoming data, so yes.

As far as the error is concerned, what is the exact error you receive?

E032 I cannot find the audio input device "SB X-Fi AUDIO [D000]" for connection "-SiB-MysticHOG".

I will use the default device "SB X-Fi Audio [D000]"

This may be caused by the device not being connected.

(Thanks for the other tabs - I saw them a couple builds ago and I guess I forgot about it cuz I turned it off before.... In addition. When a user mutes his mic, can we turn these sounds off by default since they should only "go off" when the user ACTUALLY mics up and transmits?)

This was weird:

I moved my mic volume "down" and everyone said I got louder!

I moved my speaker volume "down" and everyone ELSE got louder!

4 things:

1) We're having LOTS of problems with those control audio/mic buttons. At one setting my mic just completely cuts out for all of them, even though lower settings come through loud and clear.

2) So . . .
the audio quality affects only incoming data?
so everyone transmits at the "highest" bandwidth regardless of what they have selected?

thanks for all the info.

3) I also told Jon that there were two-three things that I felt were critical.

These are :
key binded mute mic and mute audio
key binded whispers!
key binded audio volume control (up and down)

At least one of my members things that any voice client without a decent in-game overlay is a piece of crap (: ( I use dual-screen so its not as important for me. ) However, web tools (a query port?) and the like are vitally important to monitor the mohawk and for me to see who's on while I'm spying on them or just want to do some tracking. (Don't forget to have an ip/login log available somehow - as TS doesn't do this).

Also, maybe add the ability to ghost-listen to a channel. I know vent has this ability. Maybe admins can do that without 'showing up'

4) Jon also asked me to report on how whispers work in TS (and some other programs) and to let him know how our group thinks it should work.

Well in TS:
you click settings in a menu bar.
then select keybindings.
this brings up a little panel of all your key binds
you then select add
this brings up another panel (which is on top of keybindings, on top of ts)
there are a bunch of options here for a lot of different key binds (all of which are critical things 1-3 that I listed above)
At the top of this window are three buttons that say 'set' next to them. These are the keys that you will set for your keybind. So if you want to whisper to HOG to be ctrl-h you might hit set on key1 and hit ctrl. Hit set on key2 and hit h. Then the keys are set.
In one part of this box is a section that says "action" It hsa things like whisper to, toggle, set volume and the like.
The next box is the actual action. It presents a list of possible options. For example you can toggle audio/mic. You can set volume 10% higher or lower.
Or you can whisper to a "player list", CHANNEL LIST, CHANNEL PRE-DEFS (like a specific channel or sub/parent channels), etc.
When you do that, a little drop down box of the currently connected players names show up. You can add as many of them to that key bind as you want. In this way you can whisper to a predefined squad or just to one person depending on who you add to that keybind.

I really like this set up. Its perhaps not the easiest - although it'd be pretty hard for me to come up with something better, but I found it was next to impossible to figure out how to whisper in vent.
Just make sure there's an obvious whispers button. Allow people to select from a listbox to throw people into that particular keybind. Also, allow people to "overlap" their keybinds so that they could whisper to both a channel and a group of people at the same time.

So.... I thought of a great addition that TS lacks:

Currently - you can't tell in TS when someone is normal talking to you or whisper talking to you.

Perhaps a start up sound - just a beep or something - and a close off whisper sound.

Since people can talk over each other maybe you could even get more detailed and allow whispers to 'dim' the volume of other voice channels incoming. In this way people could whisper ON TOP of the general conversation. Also, you could set a priority for individuals so that those who you WANT to whisper through will be on top. Anyway....just more great features to think about :P

One more thing that I would like to see:

A login/ip logger: I have a guy that I would like to ban, but he goes away as soon as I see him online. Without bugging my providers, I can't get his ip to ban him.

Also bans: Must have some way to ban by ip. Typically this would probably be permanent, but I could see allowing a duration on a ban from TS too. This would also help keep the banlist of TS a little cleaner. Oh, I'll ban this guy for a year - for example.

I've increased your user level to SysAdmin, your password is "mystichog" -- once logged in, click the 'SysAdmin Functions" tab and click "Manage Bans"

The system is quite nice, let us know what you think. You can ban by name, and/or IP, and for any period of time.

A note when someone enters the channel is absolutely necessary.
TS ignores this and people "sneak in" to important conversations.
